About the Greenwich Journal

Last updated: 8 October 2026

The Greenwich Journal is an independent news website founded in 2026 in Greenwich, London. We take our name from the prime meridian, the line a short walk from our newsroom where east meets west and from which the world sets its clocks. We chose it because time and place anchor good journalism: what happened, where it happened and why it matters, reported without fear or favour.

Our values

Four principles govern everything we publish:

What we cover

We report on politics, business, law, sport, the Royal Family, celebrities, Ireland and Europe, alongside a rolling archive of everything we publish. Our patch is Britain and its place in the world, seen from the meridian.

The masthead

Our masthead wears the red, white and blue of the Union Flag, crossed by a single gold line: the meridian itself. The coordinates in the header, 51.4769° N, 0.0005° W, mark the Observatory at Greenwich. They are a daily reminder of where we stand and what we are for.

The newsroom

The Journal is produced by a small editorial team based at One Meridian Quay in Greenwich:

Corrections

When we get something significant wrong, we say so. Articles are amended promptly, and a note on the piece records what changed and when. To request a correction, write to newsdesk@greenwichjournal.com with the headline and the passage at issue.
